Rice with Tahini dressing

- 1 cup Medium-grain Unenriched White Rice, Raw
- 2 1 cup Tap Water
- 1 tsp Table Salt
- 0.25 tsp Ground Turmeric
- 3 1 tablespoon Safflower Oil
- 3 tbsp chopped Onions, Raw
- 3 tbsp Common Tahini (Sesame Seed Butter)
- 0.25 1 cup Lemon Raw
- 1 dash Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic, Raw
- 125 ml Bottled Water
- 0.5 1 whole Tomato
- 3 tbsp Sweet Green Peppers, Raw
1. Heat up your pan and add the oil, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic, and a tablespoon of diced red onion. Let it cook while making sure you keep mixing it so that it doesn't burn. let it cook until the onion starts to brown.
2. Once the onion is a golden color and looks a little translucent, add the 2 cups of water and the Tumeric and let the water boil.
3. Next, add your washed rice to the boiling water. Cover the pan and reduce the heat for the water to just simmer a little instead of boil.
4. Let the rice cook, which takes anywhere from 15-18 minutes. You can prepare your sauce at this time.
5. For the tahini sauce, mix together the tahini butter, lemon, salt, pepper, and the remaining 1/2 tsp of garlic. Add water (1/4 cup-1/2 cup) to the mix until you have reached the desired consistency for the sauce.
6. Add the thinly diced tomato, pepper, and remaining onion to the sauce and season it with salt and pepper.
Once your rice is cooked serve it on a plate. You can either drizzle the sauce on top of the rice or serve it separately in a bowl alongside the rice and a side of boiled, diced beets.
Enjoy!
